Dad lives up in York these days, so I’ve got to take a VERY long train up north from King’s Cross. I don’t know why I put myself through it, I really don’t. King’s Cross is pretty far away from me, as well. I’ll have to take the Central line from Shepherd’s Bush to Oxford Circus, then I’ll get the Victoria line to King’s Cross, and I’ve got to get there by no later than 5.30, as my train is at 5.55 and I want to have time to get a coffee and a paper. It will be nice to see him, but I can’t really be bothered. So I’m looking at York hotels.

Christ, I wish Leah had sorted out these holidays earlier. I can’t tell you how stressful this whole last minute holidays ordeal has been – I’ve hated running around like a headless chicken and calling endless real estate agents to try and find the best deal.
